During the work, around 10:50 AM, the CFMEU supervisor requested a work stoppage. The reason for the interruption was the lack of appropriate face shields for mixing the grout, as required by safety regulations for handling this material.
After the lunch break, the supervisor informed us that, in addition to the face shields, it was also necessary to wear specific overalls for grout mixing, which led to a second work stoppage, as the team was not properly equipped. However, this situation had never occurred before. The work was then suspended until the correct equipment was provided. This situation caused delays in the tasks scheduled for the day, and the work could not resume until the issue with the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) was resolved. |
